WVA is a volunteer-run, non-profit organization, and your donation directly supports a variety of free events for birds and birding, including educational programs and initiatives, guided field trips, speakers, and much more.

The Friends of Lyonia group is a West Volusia Audubon project and provides volunteer and financial support to Volusia County’s Lyonia Environmental Center. Many of the programs

  • Food and drinks for LEC events and programs to keep them free to the public
  • Scholarships for the LEC’s Summer Camp to ensure that children are not deprived of a nature-based learning opportunity where their families can’t afford it
  • Medical costs for the LEC’s ambassador animals, who feature in many of the LEC’s programs and events
  • Supplies, plants, and more for the “Lyonia Garden Keepers,” a volunteer force that maintains the LEC gardens including the pollinator garden, scrub garden, bat house, and more through the Lyonia Garden Keepers
