The 212-acre Gemini Springs in DeBary was purchased in 1994 through the combined efforts of Volusia County, the Trust for Public Lands, the St. Johns River Water Management District and the Florida Communities Trust.
Gemini Springs has a small nature trail system with a covered tree canopy, but the real birding opportunities occur along DeBary Creek. The Creek and spillways connected to the springs are popular with various wading birds. A small fishing pier gives an opportunity to get out into the creek, and there are various opportunities to approach the water and capture photos of herons, ibises, and more. Gemini Springs is very photogenic even beyond its bird life, with the two springs and spillway making for great photos.
